In most cases, these are simply made into something silly or funny. A parody is simply taking an original idea and making it into something else still using the basic elements of the original. The first step is to pick a song you know well. It is hard to make a song parody when you barely know the original words. Most songs on the radio make great material. You can either download or go listen to the song on the internet. Once you are familiar with the song you are then free to play with the words. Print out the original lyrics if you can.
Second, Take the writing process one line at a time. Don't expect to write out a whole parody in an hour. When you are first starting off it can take a little bit of time. Take some time to brainstorm ideas. It helps to think of wacky things or even things that annoy you. You can use these to give your parodies a theme and then go on from there.
Thirdly, if you are having problems coming up with something just read the lines of the original song to yourself. Then think of something that rhymes. For instance, the original song would say---I like to go out to rodeo. Then you could say something like--- I like to go out to the clown show. Just have fun with your funny song parodies and don't be afraid to do something unusual it might surprise you how well it turns out.
